Have you ever heard of Flirty Aprons? These are very nice stylish aprons. If you don’t have a nice apron, or even if you have several, check this out. (I have several)

The Sadie styles are on sale this week. Regularly $29.95, they are 60% off. These make great gifts as one size fits all and they are very roomy.

I got the following notice in my email today:

Flirty Aprons is having a 60% Off Sale on our fabulous and fashionable “SADIE” collection for Women.  CLICK HERE to shop!

Use Coupon Code: SADIE60 at checkout.  Act now, sale ends at Midnight on 06/26/14.

As I transferred the above, the ‘click here to shop’ might not work. I’m sure if you go to Flirty Aprons, you can find the Sadie aprons. There are about a dozen patterns.

The damask is nice in red or black, but there are many colors and patterns. Another brand that is very good is Jessie Steel. These are sold on Amazon and are not on sale. This was the first ‘cute’ apron I ever got. I had seen the movie Sex and the City and Charlotte was wearing an adorable ‘cupcake’ apron with pink cupcakes all over. I tracked it down, and it is still my all time favorite apron.

Both companies have matching oven mitts for real kitchen fashion.

I think if you wear a nice apron in the kitchen it makes it easier to cook and of course keeps the splatters off of your real clothes.

If you like to sew or be creative, here is an idea for an ‘original’ apron. Go to Goodwill and look through the girls section for dresses and skirts that can easily become aprons. Often these have great trims or ruffles, sometimes a cute pocket. Cut out the back and use that fabric for the ties. If you want to make a whole apron out of a skirt, use the back fabric for the bib. Usually Goodwill ‘dresses’ for girls are less than $5, and it is already mostly done.

Twenty five years ago, I was vacationing in Anaconda, Montana. We were staying in a darling log cabin surrounded by blackberry bushes. I decided to bake a blackberry pie. Not having an apron, i checked out the nearby thrift shop in town. I got a nice skirt, cut it up the back and Voila! I didn’t have any sewing things with me, so I just used safety pins to attach the ties I made out of the back fabric.

I kept that apron for years, as a reminder of a great moment on vacation.
